June 17 - Lots of Help Tonight

We had lots of help on June 17 - thank you to everyone.
Since the basement windows were installed when it was minus something very cold, Marshall screwed them in as not to possibly crack the plastic. Joel nailed all the windows in and removed the screws.

Marc & Alanna moving scaffold out of the garage.

Laurie, Sandy, Terry & Garrity cleaning up the yard.

Glenn & Susan starting the insulating.

They got the master bedroom done.

Henri & Joel wrapping the house. This will not only protect the wood on the outside, but the insulation inside too.

Sandy & Garrity getting the tractor going after sitting all winter. Weeds are pretty tall and need to be cut!

Most of the house is wrapped & protected.

June 17 - Basement Stairs

We had a delivery of insulation & basement stairs and before I knew it, Henri & Marc had the stairs installed. Luckily Henri was on site when the delivery was made and he told the guys where to put everything.

Basement Stairs.

33 Bundles of insulation for the house.

Insulation has been moved inside...Marc & Henri discussing how to tackle the stairs.

Heave Ho, Alanna.

And down they go...

Hold on tight guys, Marc is in the basement catching the staircase.

Got them. Now to turn them around and into place.

Up they go...

Henri securing the staircase.

And voila...staircase has been installed and is secure. Marc is the first to walk up the stairs!

Yes, We Are Still Here!

It's been almost 2 months since my last post...but we are still building.
We had to spend about a month preparing our current house for the market; I made a couple of trips to Mom & Dad's to help out and the last few weeks we've been concentrating on getting Marshall up and about. It's been a crazy couple of months, but we soldier on.

Marshall (& Alanna's) electrical work passed inspection the first time. The inspector said that Marshall could wire his house any time...he was very impressed with the job that Marshall did.

Marc & Alanna were crazy busy cleaning out the garage (it was the dumping spot while building all winter) while Marshall was in the hospital. The 4 kids & I spent a Saturday out there doing a big clean up and brought over 800kg to the dump...filling the back of the truck and a utility trailer.
