Thursday night we went to Steinbach to pick up our built in vacuum and like the town's advertising states..."It's worth the trip to Steinbach"...it definitely was. If anyone (here in MB...not such a great deal for our friends in NL, ON, AB or BC, lol) is looking for a Beam built-in vacuum, go to Janzen's Painting on Main Street & talk to Darryl Janzen. (Thanks again to Henri for this lead.) Darryl was helpful, friendly & honest and offered a better price than we could find in Winnipeg.
While in Steinbach we went to Penner Building...I think we know where everything is in this store now-we're getting to be regulars. lol. We picked up the last 2 pieces of fascia to finish that job and also the replacement basement window for the broken one they delivered a few weeks back.
Thursday & Friday were painting days for me...starting to get the house ready to put on the market (hopefully by mid-April).
Thanks to Cheryl & Kevin (her son) who came on Friday...their help was greatly appreciated. :)
Thanks to our concrete guy (George) who lent us 6 insulated tarps to lay down on the main floor to help keep the heat in the basement. Let's get that ground thawed out!!
Marshall & Henri had a very productive days on Friday & Saturday: laid out the tarps on the main floor; replaced the basement window; installed all the shave stops; finished the fascia and worked on the wiring (Marshall is very close to having the main floor finished).
Today we've been painting...why didn't we do this months ago so we could enjoy it? lol
1 tarp in bedroom (another is in the master bedroom)
3 tarps in living room area
1 tarp in hallway from front door to door to garage in mudroom.
Our plumber stopped by on Friday to mark the ground where he will need to dig to lay the drainage pipes. Marshall shoveled the rocks off of this area to help the heat get into the ground and thaw it quicker. The current plan is that the plumber will be back on Tuesday to start digging! YAY!!
Above & below pictures...Shave stops (soffit insulation baffle) in the eaves. These give an air pocket once the insulation is blown in, which is needed for attic ventilation.
